Junior scientists

        Within the framework of the “Decade of Science and Discoveries”, pupils of one of the tenth classes of school № 43 visited the Institute of High-Temperature Electrochemistry. During the Decade there are meetings of students with representatives of various professions, excursions to the city’s enterprises, and this year the IHTE UB RAS became one of such excursion sites for the first time. The acquisition of students for scientific and research work, the organization of research activities is one of the most important areas of school education.

        Students visited the scientific and technical exhibition of the Institute, which was founded in 1998. The modernly designed exposition of the Institute’s developments includes experimental samples of products, materials, coatings, electrochemical devices created using technologies developed at the Institute of High-Temperature Electrochemistry. The exhibition also presents information and promotional materials on current scientific and technical developments, applicable for practical implementation. Also, the schoolchildren were shown the workplace of the scientist-researcher in one of the laboratories of the institute, told about the modern equipment of the institute and gave a chance to try their hand at operating the instruments in an airtight box.

       We hope that the practice of involving young people in science from the school’s bench will be fruitful for the development of Russian science in general.
