Innoprom – 2017

       In Ekaterinburg for the 7th time the international industrial exhibition “INNOPROM” was held. This year from 10 to 14 July about 600 industrial companies from 95 countries presented their products to potential business partners.Our Institute took part in this significant event.In the form of a roundtable the discussion of topic “Industrial processing of industrial and consumer waste – the strategic vector of industrial policy and the most important component of the environmental safety of the Russian Federation” took place.

     During the active and constructive dialogue of the round table participants, issues of interregional cooperation in the field of waste management, establishment and development of industrial processing of waste and secondary raw materials, principles of financing, tariff policy, investments, state subsidies and target collecting were considered.

       In addition, the current situation at the industrial enterprises of the Urals region and new directions of scientific research on processing and utilization of technogenic formations and municipal wastes were analyzed.

       A report on pyrochemical processing of spent nuclear fuel was made by our colleague AlexeyM. Potapov.In his brief speech, he specified that nearly 1 billion m3 of liquid radioactive wasteswas accumulated worldwidewith more than half of which are in Russia. He focused on a number of advantages of the proposed technology: its compactness, a significant reduction of the fuel cell exposure period, the possibility of processing without water and, of course, the safety of production due to high protection against the spread of radioactive materials, even in the case of severe accidents.

IMG_0316e    Currently, Russia is implementing a program of SNFreprocessingpyrochemical technology development within the framework of the «Breakthrough» («Proryv») project (Rosatom).A number of scientific organizations and industrial enterprises are working for the problem solution; proposals for the development of pyrotechnological research and its experimental base are regularly discussed at Institute (IHTE UB RAS) workshops.

          Members of the Council of Young Scientists of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences and representatives the Ural department of the FASO Russia took part in the open session “Youth Entrepreneurship” of the All-Russian Youth Business Forum “Development of Youth Entrepreneurship in Russia”.The participants of the event discussed the possibleways of turning scientific research into the creation of a commercially successful and sought-after innovative product, while preserving the academic reputation.Leading speakers of federal business development institutions told about the existing opportunities for financial, consulting and innovative-production support of scientific projects.IMG_0307e
