On June 3 the volleyball championship of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences was carried out. In addition to our institute team, five more teams from the Institutes of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences took part in it.
A good organization of the event allowed participants to have fun and relax, and even changeable weather did not violate the regulations. According to the system of the tournament, eight half-hour matches and three matches for an hour were played, in which the teams fought for the first, third and fifth places. The final match of the permanent rivals – electrophysicists and metallurgists was crowned by the victory of the Institute of Electrophysics. In general, a friendly atmosphere reigned over the playing field, where each team supported the other participants. The event was beautified by girls from different institutions, who occasionally join in one support team. In addition, many fans came to support their comrades – especially the support groups of the Institute of Metallurgy and Mining Institute of Perm distinguishedin it.

Despite on the honorable sixth placeof the IHTE,our team is aimed to continue participating in such competitions. It is necessary to revive the sport in scientific institutes. It can be achieved by both supporting traditional sports (such as soccer), and developing new ones – such as volleyball, basketball, badminton and many others. It is also useful to support our team with financial investments, for example, by supplying them a uniform sports form and training grounds.
