Strategy of Science and Technology development and Challenges for the Russian Science

       14 and 15 November 2016 The Ministry of Education and Science of Russian Federation carried out the III scientific-practical conference “Research and development – 2016” in the framework of business program of exhibition “VUZPromExpo–2016”. The Conference was opened by the plenary report of Sergey Matveev,the Acting Director of Department of Science and Technology. He highlighted two main objectives of the Conference: presentation of the results of work performed under the Federal Target Program and modernization of FTP in connection with the statement of Strategy of Science and Technology development of Russian Federation by RF President at 1 December 2016, where great challenges for the Russian economy and science were defined. FTP should provide the transit of research results to the economy and it allow to overcome the so-called “death valley” due to its coordination with initial stages of support –fundamental science,up to the final stage of outputting in the industry, as S. Matveev stressed in his report. Within two days of the conference the parallel sections on priority directions of scientific and technological industry of Russia were organized, where the participants were able to show the results of work, obtained in the framework of FTP projects.

          From the IHTE UB RAS, the conference was attended by members of certain research teams. They have presented the results of investigations on the following FTP projects performed under the supervision of Yu.P. Zaykov: “Development of the new anode current supply unit for Soderbergh electrolytic cell JSC RUSAL Krasnoyarsk” (2014-2016); “Development of energy-saving process for producing of aluminum containing boron or scandium by using of molten salts”(2014-2016); “Development of a new energy-efficient technology of start-up and operation of an aluminum electrolytic cell”(2016-2018).
