Seminar “Recent advances inthe development of proton-conducting materials and devices based on them” organized in IHTE UB RAS

Безымянный    From 6th to 10th of August  IHTE UB RAS organized a seminar devoted to the results of the studies within the Megagrant (agreement № 14.Z50.31.0001). Professor Tsiakaras headed the seminar.

     At the beginning of 2014 Institute of High Temperature Electrochemistry and professor of the Thessaly University (Greece) PanagiotisTsiakaras won the grant of the RF Government in the field of electrochemical energy.

  During the seminar the following scientists presented major scientific results: Bronin D.I. DSc (Chemistry), Vylkov A.I. PhD (Chemistry), Volkov A.N. PhD (Chemistry), Medvedev D.A. PhD (Chemistry), Khrustov A.V. junior researcher, Danilov N.A. and Skutina L.S. PhD students.

         The following issues were discussed during the seminar:

   – method of relaxation times distribution according to the electrochemical impedance analysis;

  – problems of search for new electrolyte and electrode materials with optimal physical-chemical and electric characteristics;

  – results of the proton electrolyte SOFC and electrolytic cell studies;

  – possible application of proton electrolytes in sensor devices of the potentiometric type;

  – questions on modeling, which deal with the peculiarities of heat- and mass transfer in stacks of SOFCs.

   and etc.

     During the seminar the work progress for 2014-2015 years and first half of 2016 was summarized. During this period 22 articles were published in peer-reviewed journals and 5 patents were obtained. At the second day of the seminar the Magagrant participants discussed in detail their plans for the second half of 2016 year.

      Such seminars promote scientific interaction between different organizations. Thus, several works on the first seminar were published together with scientists of the Ural State University named after the first president of Russian B.N. Eltsin.
