On the 8th of September of 2016 the Minister of Industry and Science of Sverdlovsk Region S.V. Perestronin had a working visit to the Institute of High Temperature Electrochemistry.
Mr. Perestronin visited the Scientific-Technical Exhibition, where the major scientific directions of IHTE and perspective developments of our scientists in the fields of high temperature galvanoplastics of refractory metals, obtaining functional coatings of different materials, creation of chemical current sources, electrochemical generators and etc.
The Minister stayed at the Laboratory of Electrochemical Devices on Solid Oxide proton Electrolytes, which was created within the framework of the RF Government Megagrant of IHTE UB RAS and Thessaly University professor Panagiotis Tsiakaras in nomination “Energetics and environmental management”. Head of the Laboratory Anatoly Demin reported about the effectiveness of the international cooperation and future plans in the field of development of proton-conducting materials and devices of their basis.
The shared access center “Composition of Compounds”, which operates on the basis of the Solid Oxides Fuel Elements Laboratory of IHTE UB RAS, was the next stop in the guided tour. Kurumchin Edkhem DSc (Chemistry) presented the work of the center, its scientific methodical and equipment alimentation, necessary fundamental and applied research, which are performed for IHTE and many other organizations of Ural Region.
Minister also visited the Laboratory of Radiochemistry headed by V. Yu. Shishkin and the Electrode Processes Laboratory headed by A.V. Isakov. The impact of the Institute on the aerospace program of Russian Federation was reported and the laboratory area devoted to the study of electrochemical technologies of light metals alloys production, which was created in collaboration with the RUSAL company was demonstrated.
During the working visit possibilities and perspectives of the IHTE Scientific and Technological Research and Developments implementation were discussed between Sergey Perestronin, the Minister of Industry and Science of Sverdlovsk Region, Alexander Dedyukhin, IHTE UB RAS Director pro-tempore, and Zaykov Yu.P., Scientific leader of the INTE UB RAS
