Institute of High Temperature Electrochemistry UB RAS took part at the main international trade-fair “INNOPROM 2016” on 11-14 of July 2016, where novel technologies of Russian and international companies were demonstrated.
Together with our UrfU COLLEGUES THE Institute demonstrated a test batch of the autonomous power set of the 1.5 kW capacity, which may be used as a power supply of the gas pipe lines cathode protection and underground buildings. These project won in the competition of the Ministry of Science and Education of Russian Federation on the selection of organizations to get a grant on implementation of complex projects on creation of highly technological production.
The test batch operates using the electrochemical oxidation of fuel on solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). Different types of natural and technogenic carbon dioxide materials may be used as fuel, which is undoubtedly one of the main achievements of electrochemical SOFC sets. Apart from that the set is highly efficient, simple and reliable. The size and weight are small, no noise and poisonous emissions at operation.
The scientists state that the experimental batch of the set after ~6000 experimental run successfully passed all control tests in the “Gasprom Transgas Ekatherinburg” Ltd, where previously at the workshop the conditions and possibilities of the test run has been discussed.
