A traditional annual Young Scientists Competition was organized in the Institute of High Temperature Electrochemistry UB RAS. This year there were 16 participants. PhD students, junior researchers and student that work at the Institute presented their works. The Council of Young Scientists was in charge of the organization.
A competition committee of 10 members evaluated the works according to the 15-point scale considering the relevance, novelty, originality, completeness and the author input into the work. The work by Yevgueni Tropin “Influence of the surface inhomogeneity and diffusion anisotropy on the gas phase oxygen interaction with the La2NiO4±δ oxide oxygen” was considered the best. After the study of surface and pre-surface layers of lanthanum nickelate the author detected that there are no nickel cations in the surface layer and obtained the values of oxygen exchange coefficients with the surface and oxygen diffusion coefficients in the temperature and pressure ranges of 600-800°С and 0,13-2,5 kPa.
Svetlana Pershina and Andrey Nikolayev divided the second place, and the third place was given to Yuliya Lyagayeva and Maxim Plekhanov.
The members of the committee stated that the works presented are of a significant scientific interest, which testifies the perspective of the chosen scientific direction by the young scientists.
