The Institute of High-Temperature Electrochemistry has held a workshop “Electrochemical devices on solid oxide proton electrolytes” on the 23-24th September 2015

IMG_1675    The Institute of High-Temperature Electrochemistry has held a workshop “Electrochemical devices on solid oxide proton electrolytes” in the “Oktyabrskaya” hotel on the 23-24th September 2015. Professor P.Tsiakaras, Greek scientist working in the IHTE UB RAS within the frames of the Megagrant project (contract № 14.Z50.31.0001, session: “Development of solid oxide electrochemical cells with carrying and thin-layer proton electrolyte for electrochemical devices”) took on the leadership at the workshop. Researchers from IHTE UB RAS, the Institute of Solid State Chemistry, and Ural Federal University named after the First President of Russia B.N. Yeltsin (totally 30 people) have also participated.14 reports have been declared. The key reports were presented by D.I. Bronin (Doctor of Science, Chemistry, IHTE UB RAS), I.E. Animitsa (Doctor of Science, Chemistry, Ural Federal University), M.V. Patrakeev (Doctor of Science, Chemistry, Institute of Solid State Chemistry), A.K. Demin (PhD, Chemistry, IHTE UB RAS),  V.I. Tsidilkovskiy (PhD, physical-math.sciences, IHTE UB RAS).

           Important topics were discussed during the workshop, such as:

  • Issues related to development of proton-conductive electrolytes with required set of properties as well as with the search of comparable electrode materials;
  • Matters regarding the nature of proton conductivity in solid oxides and their defect structure;
  • Ways of development of investigations in the field of solid proton electrolytes for electrochemical devices.IMG_1584

         On the last day of the workshop a round-table has been arranged, where participants discussed all presented reports along with the future plans related to further investigations within the frames of performing the Grant of the Russian Federation’s Government for state support of scientific research carried out under supervision of leading scientists in Russian educational organizations of higher education, scientific institutes, and state scientific centers of Russian Federation.
