Delegation from IHTE UB RAS headed by the director, professor Yu.P. Zaikov took part in The VII International Congress and Exhibition “NON-FERROUS METALS AND MINERALS-2015”, which was held in Krasnoyarsk on September 14-17. This year’s Congress brought together more than 600 delegates of 150 companies from 22 countries of the world. Among the participants were representatives of Russian and foreign mining and metallurgical companies, as well as Russian and foreign universities, R&D and academic institutions. At the Exhibition Russian and foreign companies presented their designs, technologies, materials and equipment for the mining and metallurgy industries.
At the plenary session The Minister of Industry, Energy and Trading of Krasnoyarsk Krai A.G. Tsykalov made a speech “Krasnoyarsk Krai is a center of Russian non-ferrous metallurgy”; General director of the aluminum production company RUSAL – V.A. Soloviev made a report “Direction for development of UC RUSAL”.A member of the Russian Academy of sciences; professor of the Ural Federal University S.S. Naboichenko gave a lecture “Problems of professional training for non-ferrous metallurgy industry”.
The IHTE UB RAS representatives delivered their presentations on the following important topics: Electrochemical behavior of aluminum and scandium in the KF–AlF3 melt with Al2O3, Sc2O3 and ScF3 additions (A.Yu. Nikolaev, A.V. Suzdaltsev, Yu.P. Zaikov); Obtaining Al-B alloys with the use of alternative fluxes (A.A. Kataev, A.V. Suzdaltsev, O.Yu.Tkacheva, Yu.P. Zaikov); Development of electrolytical method for low carbon steel aluminizing in order to protect anode current leads of the Soderberg electrolyzer (V.A. Kovrov, V.V. Tsvetov, Yu.P. Zaikov, I.G. Brodova, V.V. Pyngin, M.V. Golubev, A.M. Petrov); Silicon electrodeposition on the glassy carbon in the KF–KCl–K2SiF6 melt (S.I. Zhuk, A.V. Isakov, A.P. Apisarov, O.V. Chemezov, L.M. Minchenko, Yu.P. Zaikov).
One of the crucial events for the IHTE UB RAS delegation was participation in the meeting with UC RUSAL. During this constructive dialogue many important issues related to extension of internal market for aluminum-containing products and increase of import-substitution, development of novel energy-effective technologies for aluminum alloys and master alloys production have been discussed.
As a result of participating in the Congress the IHTE researchers had a great opportunity to get current information about situation and tendencies in non-ferrous metallurgy market as well as about emergent scientific and industrial achievements, to exchange scientific experience with partners, to present their new advances.
The Governor of the Krasnoyarsk krai Tolokonskiy V.A. has presented the Grateful Letter for contribution in development of international collaboration within the frames of international congress and exhibition “”NON-FERROUS METALS AND MINERALS-2015″ to the IHTE UB RAS director Zaikov Yu.P.
