The “Breakthrough” nuclear power engineering

The reporters of the Vesti-Russia TV program have visited the Institute of High-temperature electrochemistry for the Russian science day. Our colleagues from the laboratory of electrode processes gave an exposure about the unique electrochemical method developed within the frames of the Breakthrough project. The method of the reduction of the oxidized fission products is necessary for the nuclear fuel processing of the modern reactors on fast neutrons. Due to this unique technique it will be possible to reuse uranium and plutonium, which will reduce the burden on the environment.
