Scientific Interests include the development of methods for obtaining nanosized powders of metal oxides, as well as oxide, boride and metal coatings on various substrates in molten salt media, the study of their properties and the creation of functional nanomaterials on their basis.

In recent years, pioneering work has been carried out on the synthesis of 2D (graphene) and 3D (cubic diamond, lonsdaleite) carbon materials, as well as their transitional structures in a metal melt, new aluminum-graphene and lead-graphene composite materials were created with a unique combination of mechanical properties, namely, a simultaneous increase in strength, hardness and ductility. Currently, fundamental research on the creation of a  aluminum-graphene ion battery.is being carried out.  Hierarchically structured carbon films have been created that ensure the reduction and adsorption of hexavalent chromium and heptavalent manganese from polluted water in neutral media, which makes these materials promising for use in industrial filters.
